Where this practice comes from, and where I sit within it.
This path comes from the Sri Vidya Kaula tradition of Devipuram.
Devipuram was founded by Sri Amritananda Natha Saraswati, known as Guruji, born Dr Nishtala Prahlada Sastry, a former nuclear physicist. He attained mahasamadhi in October 2015.
His wife and co-founder, Sri Annapurnamba, known as Guru Amma, continues teaching at Devipuram today. The traditional way of naming them together is Sri Annapurnamba sahita Sri Amritananda Natha Saraswati, her name placed before his, the same convention used for Sita and Rama, or Radha and Krishna.
I study directly under Guru Amma Annapurnamba, and I also draw on Guruji's recorded teachings, through his writings and the tradition he left behind, rather than through a personal relationship with him.
This site is an independent practitioner's space. I do not speak on behalf of Devipuram, and nothing here should be read as an official statement from them.
Devipuram is public about the fact that its practices, including the Suhasini and Kumari poojas, are offered only to willing, consenting adults, within a disciplined, non coercive framework. I hold everything I offer here to that same standard.
