On daily affirmations

The Body Is Already the Temple

A handful of lines from this lineage that changed how I think about my own body.

Guruji once wrote out a short list of daily affirmations, meant to be repeated until they actually become part of how you see yourself, rather than just words you say. A few of them have stayed with me more than any single teaching I have read.

The first is the one everything else in this practice rests on: the body is a temple. Every part of it was made by the Goddess, and every part of it holds power, some already active, some still asleep. Not a metaphor. A working assumption to actually live by.

Others are about forgiveness rather than the body directly. Whatever you did in ignorance, you did in a kind of hypnosis, and the person doing it is not fully the person you are now. There is room to stop punishing yourself for who you used to be.

There is also a line about creative and sexual energy being sacred rather than shameful, which is part of why this tradition treats the whole body, including that energy, as worthy of honoring rather than hiding. I keep that part at a high level here. If it is something you want to go deeper into, that is exactly what private guidance is for.

A few of the rest are more ordinary and just as useful day to day: gratitude toward the people who help you, a decision to keep a respectful distance from people who hurt you rather than carry hatred for them, and a simple daily image of breathing anxiety out and peace in.

How to actually use these

Guruji's own instruction was simple. Mark the ones that speak to you, repeat them daily, and let them slowly become your own, rather than trying to adopt all ten at once.
