On why every practice starts here
Before anything else in this tradition, there is Ganapati.
In this tradition, almost nothing serious starts without Ganapati first. He is described as the one who clears the way, moving you from a fixed sense of shape and identity toward something more open and fluid.
There is a striking idea attached to why this matters so much. As more people share the same awareness rather than staying separate and closed off, the power available to each person does not just add up, it multiplies. Ten people genuinely aligned are described as carrying far more than ten times the strength of one person alone.
Practically, this means the ritual is not just about you individually. It is about loosening the tight, separate sense of self enough that you can actually be helped by other people, and can help them back, instead of trying to carry everything alone.
That is part of why Ganapathi Pooja, on its own, is often the right place to start, whether or not you go on to any of the deeper practices afterward.
